I have been engaging in social media now, as a Christian, for over two years and have discovered that atheism is divided not on what they choose to (dis)believe in but actually on grounds of character.
There are varying shades of (dis)belief from mild agnosticism all the way through to nihilistic and militant atheism. The issue of character though is the most decisive.
It sharply separates atheism far more than they actually realise or would probably admit.
At every step of how an atheist defines their (dis)belief we find that their character remains the defining attribute in how they interact with others around them – especially those who have faith.
They often have either strong or weak characters. One or the other with no middle ground.
I have yet to encounter someone in between – hence the title “50/50“
