In the second week of March I had the pleasure of being the first interview for five hopeful applicants to our company. The position was to replace a colleague of mine who is sadly leaving us for pastures new.
I was tasked by the then sales manager with conducting the first round of interviews and feeding back my recommendations to him. I’ve never done an interview before though I’d attended probably a dozen or so in my entire life.
I had an opportunity to learn both what is involved with conducting an interview and also to influence who I would be working with for the foreseeable future. I applied a fairly simple rule which has changed the way I will approach any future interviews I possibly attend.
