Today I read 1 Corinthians 3:11-17 and was reminded of the protection that God gives me and of the effort that he has done in creating a strong foundation for my faith.
It also reminds me to keep my faith pure, and from God’s own words, without being built upon by those who have no right to do so. If that does happen it will be duly exposed. It also gives me great comfort in that, as my temple is being built, those responsible for its construction will receive blessings.
Those who have properly steered me on my way to faith will be appropriately rewarded by God. My girlfriend (soon to be fiancée), Mark Brown, and the community at the Jesus Centre in Northampton (who are all heavily responsible for the immense faith I now have) will all receive rewards for what they have done for me.
You all deserve lavish praise from our Lord.
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
It also assures me that should I come under any attack that God will be there as my armor. He will be my instrument of revenge if the temple is damaged or destroyed.
The foundation, in Jesus, will always remain but those who seek to damage and tear down the walls will find themselves the wrong side of God’s wrath. I for one would not want to be in their shoes because his wrath can be terrible.
I have witnessed him taking care of such problems several times so I am comforted in knowing I have a powerful defender and champion to keep such people away from me.
Focus on building your temple, avoid those who seek to persecute you, and let God reward or punish them respectively.
